HP PA12 40% GF
Material type: Thermoplastic / Polyamide 12 (PA12) with Glass Fiber (GF) reinforcement
HP PA12 40% GF is a glass fiber-reinforced Nylon 12 material specifically engineered for the HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) process. The glass fiber reinforcement significantly enhances the material's stiffness, strength, and thermal stability compared to standard PA12, making it suitable for demanding functional applications.

Material advantages
High stiffness and strength: Glass fiber reinforcement provides excellent rigidity and strength, with a Tensile Modulus of 3200 MPa and Tensile Strength of 55 MPa. Superior heat resistance: Outstanding thermal stability with a Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of up to 180°C at 0.45 MPa, suitable for high-temperature environments. Excellent dimensional stability: Low warpage and high dimensional accuracy, ideal for precision parts. Good chemical resistance: Resistant to oils, greases, solvents, and many chemicals. Cost-effective production: Good powder reusability (up to 70%) reduces waste and cost per part. No support structures: MJF technology typically does not require support structures for most geometries, enabling complex designs.
Material shortcomings
Reduced ductility: Glass fiber content significantly lowers elongation at break (approx. 3.5%), making the material more brittle and less flexible than unfilled PA12. Higher material cost: More expensive than standard PA12 due to the glass fiber reinforcement. Specialized equipment required: Requires HP MJF printers, which may not be available at all service providers. Limited color options: Only available in natural gray; cannot be dyed easily like standard PA12. Surface roughness: Glass fibers can result in a slightly rough surface finish compared to unfilled PA12. Abrasive to tools: The glass fibers are abrasive, which can wear down cutting tools during post-processing.
Recommended description
HP PA12+GF is a high-performance, glass fiber-reinforced nylon for MJF 3D printing. It provides superior stiffness, strength, and heat resistance (up to 180°C) compared to standard PA12. This material is ideal for functional prototypes and end-use parts that require high rigidity, dimensional stability, and thermal performance in demanding environments. However, it should be noted that the material has lower ductility and is more brittle, making it less suitable for parts requiring flexibility or high impact resistance.
