Nat.IO Colombia.
In cities like Bogotá, Colombia, every 42 hours on average, 24,000 families are left without electricity service due to accidents in the power grid caused by bird electrocution. Up to 25% of faults, explosions, and damage to power equipment are caused by wildlife. Offering solutions for the protection of assets and biodiversity through IoT is the value proposition of this project. Through the development and validation of strategies for characterization, analysis, and control of wildlife in industrial and energy infrastructure, we mitigate risks of operational failure. We have decided to assemble our device as I am currently conducting pilot tests with my team. We have chosen to implement the solution in a patio-type electrical substation in the Caldas region of Colombia. The device is responsible for providing information about the time of wildlife detection using a radar-type sensor. At the same time, the detection event sends a triggering signal via IoT to deterrent devices to control animal activity near critical assets without harming biodiversity.
