Dual-Band Wi-Fi Toolkit | 2.4 + 5GHz | A powerful Swiss Army Knife for Wi-Fi
Introduction
I have previously demonstrated a few other projects such as
1) 5G WiFi Scanner
2) WiFi Signal Analyzer
3) LCD Menu
Now this is the combination of all 3 previous projects, this is a "Swiss-Army-Knife" type of microcontroller-based WiFi toolkit for your on-the-go Wi-Fi analysis's need.
This project is based on Ameba A1 Pico (RTL8720DN from Realtek), it has dual-core ARM Cortex-M processors clocked at 20MHz and 200MHz respectively, equipped with 5G & 2.4G WiFi as well as BLE5.0, 512KB SRAM, 2MB Flash, thus its able to house many applications into the single firmware on the flash. With the TFT LCD Menu feature, you can easily add your own application and start hacking~
PS: the very reason I chose BW16 over ESP32 is because BW16 supports both 2.4 & 5GHz Wi-Fi band which is lacking from ESP chips.
Features:
Now it supports,
- Colorful TFT LCD Menu
- 5G & 2.4G WiFi Scanner
- 5G & 2.4G WiFi Analyzer
And I plan to add the following new features too
- Simple MQTT client (WIP)
- 5G & 2.4G WiFi Sniffer (WIP)
Demo Video:
Getting Started
- Add the following link to Arduino IDE to be able to compile for BW16
https://github.com/ambiot/ambd_arduino/raw/master/Arduino_package/package_realtek.com_amebad_index.json
- Make connections according to the pin map
TFT_RESET -> PA27
TFT_DC -> PB3
TFT_CS -> PA15
BL/LED -> Vcc
---
PS: This project is also shared on Hackaday.io at https://hackaday.io/project/183416-diy-5g-24g-wifi-toolkits
