Polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA), is a kind of high molecular polymer, also known as acrylic or plexiglass. It has the advantages of high transparency, low price and easy mechanical processing. It is a commonly used glass substitute material. And it has also been closely linked with the laser cutting process to achieve the purpose of production.

Excellent transparency, outstanding aging resistance; good optics, insulation, processability and weather resistance; colorless and transparent, light transmittance of 90%-92%, strong toughness, more than 10 times larger than silicon glass.

Material shortcomings

The texture is brittle and easy to crack, the surface hardness is low, and it is easy to be scratched and lose its luster, but the subtle scars and scratches can be removed with polishing paste.

Because it is inherently stable to UV-light, PMMA is used for many outdoor applications, in which it maintains its original colour and finishes for many years.
